There are three basic concepts you should know to get the most from Dropbox Dash:

It's that simple.

1️⃣ Records

A Record is anything you can search for and open with Dropbox Dash – on your computer and in the cloud.

2️⃣ Services

Records come from Services you can connect to Dropbox Dash via integrations, the Dropbox Dash browser extension, or locally from your device. These are typically desktop and web apps that you use daily to get work done, including Gmail, Google Docs, Slack, Jira, Chrome, and more.

3️⃣ Hotwords

Every Service has a Hotword. You can use Hotwords to filter and restrict searches to a specific Service. Here are a few examples:

  • Quickly see all your open tabs in Chrome with tb

  • See upcoming calendar events with cal

  • Find a specific Slack DM or Channel with sk
